We celebrate the Lord’s Supper often at St. John's because we believe it is the most powerful medicine available today. Similar to a good doctor we want to ensure that this "medicine" is a blessing for you.
Our family includes a variety of people at different places in their walk of faith with the Lord. That means that some will participate in the Lord's Supper and some will remain in their seats. God’s Word says that before anyone goes to the Lord’s Supper they should examine themselves. “Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.” (1 Corinthians 11:27-28 ESV) Before you decide if you’re ready to participate you should ask yourself these questions.
